How do you view supply chain replanning?

The current era of frequent disruptions, both on the demand as well as on the supply side, calls for more frequent replanning of various supply chain actions. Minor tweaks to the earlier plans fall short of the requirements. What we need is an end-to-end replanning for all supply actions.

How easy is it to execute? Teams often encounter resistance to any replanning efforts, under the guise of plan stability. The question is… if the underlying demand and supply outlooks change significantly, is a stable plan desirable? The more we put off replanning, the bigger the changes will be, making it even more challenging for backend operations to adjust.

In case of any significant change to demand and supply outlook, earliest replanning is desirable. We need to put it as a part of the regular planning and execution process.
