How do we internalize OTIF?
OTIF is increasingly gaining importance as a customer-facing measure of supply chain performance. However, some teams mention that the employees haven’t fully bought into the concept. How do we inculcate a culture of OTIF in the organization?
Our experience suggests that a good way to build this culture is to internalize it in our work practices. For example, the trigger can be a simple nudge in various team meetings. Do people come to the meetings or log into the virtual meetings on time? Do they engage fully in active listening and discussion, or do they fiddle around with their phone?
Once team members start joining the meetings on time and they engage in full, we know that the concept of OTIF has been internalized. Improving business OTIF would then have the team’s buy-in.
