Are you still searching for the perfect Supply Chain planning solution?
Many companies are on the lookout for a good supply chain planning solution. The process seems to be pretty long and often gets stretched to a point that the requirements and discussions get obsolete.
Since supply chains need to excel in a volatile environment, I feel it’s better to check the overall direction of solution. How well does it synchronise supplies with demand? How does it deal with volatility? How fast and how frequently do we sense and use the actual demand in the planning process?
If a particular solution looks promising on these fronts, we should pilot it in a live scenario and test out the promises. Regular usage of the solution should help in refining the parameters on an ongoing basis. If the supply chain performance doesn’t show a significant improvement, the solution’s capability is in question.
