Elegant Supply Chain solutions rely on simplification.
I have seen several Supply Chain improvement projects which introduce quite complex processes to solve a supply chain issue. Such complexities often come in the way of implementation and reduce the chances of adoption. Do we really need such complex solutions?
Logical Thinking Processes in TOC provide an excellent framework to resolve an inherent conflict in the current way of working. The conflict, when resolved, generally makes the new process much simpler to understand, to explain and to implement.
If your current improvement project doesn’t result in process simplification, look harder for a better and more effective solution. Best solutions inevitably result in simpler processes.
