Collaboration in Supply Chain is key to success!
Supply chains function through an active participation by several important players… vendors, manufacturers, transporters, warehouse owners, insurers, financiers, distributors, wholesalers, retailers. If you observe any supply chain, one of these players may have a dominant role to play. The tone set by this player decides how well the supply chain will function.
We have seen cases where the dominant player dictates what the others should do. We have also seen instances where the dominant player looks for active collaboration from everyone, letting each player play to his strengths while keeping the common objective of serving the end consumer.
Collaborative supply chains work effectively as well as efficiently.
