Implementing DDSC solution package doesn’t make a company’s supply chain demand driven.
Many companies, in their quest to make their supply chain demand driven, look for an IT solution for implementation, hoping that it would cause the requisite shift. This is rarely enough.
DDSC starts with changing the mindset from forecast-dependent to demand driven, acknowledging that daily demand signals coming from the market are far more effective in ascertaining near term supply actions – what to move, what to make and what to buy. If the mindset hasn’t changed, actual implementation becomes only a technical exercise, without delivering the desired benefits.
