Why is OTIF gaining so much importance as a Supply Chain metric?
Of late, I see many companies focusing on measuring and improving their On Time In Full (OTIF) performance. Why is OTIF so important?
I think it touches the heart of business and aligns with a core organisational value espoused by most companies. Let me explain.
I often see ‘Integrity’ as a core value for companies. What does it mean in the context of our customer relations? I would interpret it as ‘keeping our words’ or ‘delivering on what we have promised to our customers’. If we can’t deliver our promises, are we really living up to the value of Integrity?
OTIF is a metric that measures it specifically in the Supply Chain context. Did we deliver our promises to customers on their specific orders?
