Is OTIF an integral part of our organisation culture?
Most companies are now focusing on OTIF improvement… Deliver their customers’ orders on time in full. They are improving their demand planning and supply execution processes to achieve it.
However, one key requirement often ignored is the culture prevailing in the organisation. We don’t know how to measure it, but a few simple questions can help us in this regard.
For example, do we pay our vendors ‘On Time’ or try to squeeze a few days of extra credit? Do our top managers turn up for meetings ‘On Time’ and participate ‘In Full’? Do we file all our regulatory reports ‘On Time’?
OTIF can be improved for our customers through several interventions. However, it is sustained only if we look at it holistically and build a culture of OTIF in our organisation.
