How have batsmen evolved over time in playing bouncers from pace bowlers?
Playing bouncers requires courage, grit and skill from the batsman. Most of the batsmen prefer to duck these bouncers if they can spot it early, else get hit on their helmet or body.
Only a few skilled batsmen manage to score runs off a bouncer by pulling it to square leg or midwicket. It requires sensing it early and responding fast. Fielding side protects against such shots by placing fielders on the boundary at deep square leg and deep midwicket, to catch any miscued shot.
Of late, batsmen have become even more agile by inventing a new shot… push it above the wicketkeeper to score a boundary!
Such new shots are possible only by developing higher levels of agility… faster sensing of the ball, higher flexibility to get into position early, and responding fast by connecting well.
What should Supply Chains learn from them?
Agility is everywhere, isn’t it?
