Who influences OTIF in your organisation?

Many organisations are adopting OTIF as their primary supply chain measure, as it is directly customer-facing and has potential to develop as a competitive advantage.

However, various functions in the organisation are often unclear whether they can influence OTIF and if so, how? I was recently with the top management team of a leading organisation, who has adopted OTIF as the primary customer-facing measure. When I asked them who all influence OTIF, only a few hands went up. When I asked them whether OTIF would suffer if we fired everyone else, they got thinking and started linking their role to OTIF improvement.

If OTIF is an important measure for you, it’s important for all functions to realize that they do influence it. They should change and subordinate their ways of working to help improve OTIF.

If we don’t achieve this organisational alignment, it’s quite possible that some functions may pull in different directions and bring down OTIF.
