We need to press the ‘Reset’ button at times for major supply chain paradigm changes.
When companies redesign their supply chain to make it agile, resilient and consumer focused, minor tweaking of the current processes doesn’t help. We need to make certain fundamental changes to the mindsets and paradigms prevalent in the organization. For example, use of monthly forecast for daily supply actions, long production batches, high MOQs with suppliers, optimizing distribution network for cost.
These old and inefficient practices can’t be tweaked for improvement. We should press the Reset button and start afresh with new and effective paradigms. Use demand signals for daily supply actions, go for shorter batches and lower MOQs, optimize distribution network for flow.
Have you pressed the Reset button, discarded old paradigms and started afresh with new mindset and new ways of working?
