Is your Supply Chain initiative removing a significant limitation for the company?

Supply chain teams run several initiatives during the year. Do these initiatives remove a major limitation, which is coming in the way of company achieving its goal? If not, the initiative is unlikely to get an enthusiastic support from the stakeholders. If it does, the whole management is expected to rally behind it.

Let’s explain with an example. Companies often face challenges in timely launch of their new products. Many a times, the product is available for sale at all the billing locations, except a few. The options are either to delay the launch or to have a staggered launch. If you conceptualize an initiative which improves the reliability of timely launches, it removes the limitation of rescheduling launches. The same holds good for most consumer promotions as well.

Thinking of constraints and obstacles in reaching the company’s goal is a good place to start. You may like to check all the current initiatives through this lens to prioritize the top 2-3 which would make a significant difference to the company’s performance.
