How effective is your company’s biggest initiative?
Most companies have a plethora of initiatives at any point in time, overwhelming the employees. Can we really focus on so many initiatives simultaneously and will it improve the business significantly?
Let’s single out the most important initiative. Will it improve consumers’ lives? Will it remove a significant limitation for the consumers? Will it reduce the friction for new triers? Will the supplies get more reliable and improve on-shelf availability? Will it improve product freshness? Will it offer wider product assessment to consumers? Will consumers be better protected against commodity price fluctuations?
Most executives I have worked with struggle with these questions. Many initiatives are taken up to either just catch up with the competition or there is new technology available in the market.
Is it really worth it?
