Why do dieting people often end up gaining weight in the long run?
Many of my friends and acquaintances have been on diet for weight reduction. Does it help? Most of them ended up gaining more weight when they came off dieting. Sounds familiar?
If the frequency of food intake is reduced and the calories taken are less than the calories requirement of the body, our body sees it as a signal of starvation and tries to store energy for the rainy days. This is done by lowering certain metabolic processes.
When we come off dieting and the metabolic processes are still running at a lower level, the additional calories are stored as excess fat.
The key to staying healthy without putting on weight is to eat in small portions many times during the day.
Small and more frequent batches help in not only reducing inventory but improving product availability, product freshness as well. Use it as a lever in your supply chain transformation.
