When the going gets tough…
How does your supply chain team respond when the going gets tough? Let’s face it, the going is likely to get tough as the business gets bigger and more complex. The systems and processes, which were designed for the earlier level of operations and complexity, may start breaking down.
Some teams start getting into the firefighting mode, trying their level best to put off the fires every day. It’s the normal mode to get into.
However, it’s important to take a step back and look at the system design itself. It may require some minor tweaks and some major process redesign to make it suitable for the higher level of operations and complexity.
