FOMO in Supply Chain!
Of late, I see a lot of interest in implementing some planning solution for the entire Supply Chain. When I speak to the supply chain heads or the business heads, they are often unclear about the specific benefits they are seeking from it, nor do they know which KPIs will get positively impacted. They want to do it just because their main competitors are doing it.
Is it just the ‘Fear Of Missing Out (FOMO)’ that is playing out here?
My advice would be to first identify which supply chain parameters are important to support the business strategy. The second step should be to measure where we are on these parameters and how much improvement we aspire for.
Evaluating alternate technologies and solutions should ideally be the third step.
Any thoughts?
