Every disruption is an opportunity to make the Supply Chain more resilient and robust.
Supply Chain disruptions are here to stay, whether we like it or not. If we look back at the past few disruptions, it is quite evident by now that its impact on various companies differs a lot.
Some companies engage in firefighting efforts for each disruption. They aim to maintain their operations as normal as possible.
Some look at each disruption as a learning opportunity. Did we catch it early in our sensing mechanism? If not, how do we improve the sensing further? Did it expose any new vulnerabilities in our system? If so, how do we plug them?
The winners look at each disruption as a business opportunity. If our competitors struggled and defaulted, did we pick up their share in the market? If not, can we improve our sensing, flexibility and responsiveness to latch on to such opportunities in future? How do we hold on to the newly acquired customers?
Our approach towards disruptions will decide who gets adversely impacted and who wins in the marketplace.
