People are good, improve the process!
Supply Chain teams undertake improvement programs on an ongoing basis. Is the focus of these programs on training and skill building? The inherent assumption behind this approach is that processes are good, people need to be more skilled to execute them.
While training and skill building is definitely important, the focus of our improvement programs should be on improving the processes, challenging the inherent assumptions and questioning the holy cows.
When was the last time you had a critical look at a key process and improved it in a quantum manner?
