IIM Sirmaur was honoured to host some of the top industry leaders for its third edition of the Annual Business Conclave – UDGAM 3.0. The fourth panel of the business conclave comprised of illustrious industry experts such as Dr. Rakesh Sinha (Founder & CEO, Reflexive Supply Chain Solutions), Rajiv Ganju (Senior.VP Global Supply Chain, Luminous Power Technologies (P) Ltd ~ Schneider Electric), Dipu KV (President – Head Operations and Customer Service, Bajaj Allianz General Insurance), Murugan Pugalenthi (Capability Harmonization and Innovation Director, Johnson & Johnson), Shailen Shukla (Chief Logistics Officer, PicTruc LLC, a MHAO (Mohamed Hareb Al Otaiba) Group) and Seema Mohanty (Global Supplier Manager for Fungicides, Bayer) who spoke on the topic “Hubotics in Supply Chain - Co-existence of the Computer and the Brain.”
Ms. Seema Mohanty was the moderator for the panel. She started off the discussion with a comparison between the human touch and the technological aspects in the supply chain. She shed light on the core challenge of supply chain, and engaged the panelists in a discussion about the root cause of the demand-supply gap.
Mr. Rakesh Sinha talked about the crucial role of Supply-Chain and explained how market demands shift day-to-day and how shifting demands makes pre-ordering or long term orders impractical. He elaborated on the various roles of human factors in supply chain with respect to demand and how it affects manual demand forecasting.
Mr. Murugan mentioned the current being the perfect time for the upcoming business leaders to step into the supply chain domain while talking about organizations going digital using Artificial Intelligence in Supply Chain Management.
Mr. Rajiv Ganju spoke about the advent of technologies such as RPS automation to help accurately predict the lead time of the inventory. He utilized the analogy of a hotel to shed light on the approach adopted to digitize the supply chain industry to optimise supply and meet consumer demands.
Mr. Shailen talked about his experiences of handling the supply chain department in UAE during the pandemic. He emphasized on leveraging data analytics and artificial intelligence to improve the sales and meet the demand of the public.
Mr. Dipu talked about applying the lengths of the supply chain to businesses. He pointed out how the shortage of semiconductor chips has caused a disruption in the supply chain.
